HOME-MADE SCRUBS AND MASKS
BRIGHTENING COFFEE & COCOA MASK
Coffee can pack a serious punch when it comes to skincare. Not just a fantastic exfoliant, it’s sloughing properties tighten and brighten skin, skin reguvention aiding in reducing dark spots and uneven tones. An excellent mask to calm and and nourish skin. Honey is packed with antibacterial properties, locks in moisture, and when paired with yoghurt, nourishes skin.
MIX TOGETHER
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons ground coffee
3 tablespoons yogurt (or whole milk)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Massage into skin, leave for 10 minutes, rinse off, get jazzed on skin as smooth as a baby’s butt.
GENTLE LEMON, COCONUT OIL & SHREDDED COCONUT SCRUB PERFECT FOR BREAKOUTS
it’ll be hard not to want to shovel this tasty mixture into your mouth, but try save it for your face, especially if you’ve been suffering from breakouts. Lemon’s cleansing properties can assist with oiliness, paired with gently exfoliating shredded coco.
MIX TOGETHER
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons shredded coconut
3 tablespoons of coconut oil
Smooth onto face, leave for a few minutes before gently cleaning off with a warm flannel. Scoff any remains.
NOURISHING AVOCADO, HONEY AND OAT MASK
Honey truly packs a punch when it comes to skin-healing properties. Known to also help with skin regenertation, healing scars and damaged tissue, when paired with soothing oats and hydrating and nourishing mashed avocado, your skin will be thanking you for this wonder-mask.
MIX TOGETHER
1 tablespoon of honey
3 tablespoons of oats
Half a mashed avocado
Apply to face. Kickback for 15 minutes. Massage off with a warm flannel.
GET GLOWING WITH A PAPAYA HONEY MASK
Papaya is one of nature’s most potent and effective exfoliators, packed with naturally exfoliating enzymes including papain., brightening the skin and removing dead skin cells. If you’re tropics based and have access to papayas, this is a great mask to whip up.
MIX TOGETHER
3 Tablespoons of blended papaya
1 tbsp honey
Apply to face, leave for 15 minutes (if skin feels irritated/burning sensation remove immedietly). Remove with warm flannel. Reveal a glow J-LO would be jealous of.
